The Minnesota Timberwolves are an NBA expansion team founded in 1989. Like most expansion teams, they struggled early but acquired one of the greatest players in Kevin Garnett and made eight consecutive NBA playoff appearances. However, since the loss of Garnett, the franchise has again floundered and not sniffed the playoffs.
