Bet On Toronto FC Games

Toronto FC fans could well be described as some of the most passionate, and patient, in the MLS. In spite of starting the competition with nine-straight seasons with more losses than wins, the TFC faithful continued to turn out game after game.

The fans were finally rewarded in 2016 when TFC not only managed to end this streak by finishing with fourteen wins and 9 defeats, they also made it all the way to the final of the MLS Cup, only to be defeated by Seattle after a dour scoreless draw went to penalties.

Prior to the 2016 MLS Cup Final, the side went head to head in a two match tie with rivals Montreal Impact, which finished 5-5 after the completion of regular time. For experienced punters, these fixtures were reasonably easy to predict – Montreal and Toronto have a history of high scoring fixtures and quite often feature plenty of goals, while the final was played in frigid conditions after a long break, leading to a sub-par performance by both sides.

Your best bet would have been the “both teams to score” market, and this is something worth considering every time TFC head out onto the pitch given their tendancy to score goals and concede. You will normally find odds around even money for this line.

Geographic proximity and Canadian lineage have created the “401 Derby” between Toronto and the aforementioned Impact, which has thus far been dominated by the boys from BMO. This fixture is always passionate given the traditional rivalry between all Toronto and Montreal sporting teams, particularly the Leafs and Canadiens. As mentioned above, look for goals in this fixture, especially from the Designated Players on either side. Sebastian Giovinco is one name that comes to mind here – he broke the record for goals and assists combined during his first year in the competition.

Perhaps try a first goal scorer bet? The great news is that there are always hundreds of different betting options available every matchday, so if you have done your analysis and chosen your sources wisely, you’re likely in for a winning weekend!
