The misconception that all Canadians are polite is immediately disproven any time you look at a hockey crowd. And even though Americans are growing more indifferent towards hockey, there are still a few Hockeytowns south of the border. So who has the most rabid fans in the NHL? That’s actually tough to judge. But we went ahead and did it anyways. So here is our list of the top 10 most heated fanbases in the NHL.

These rankings are based on the combination of attendance, crowd noise and overall atmosphere in the building. If you look at it from a straight up attendance perspective, the top 10 teams in home game attendance are Chicago, Montreal, Detroit, Minnesota, Philadelphia, Toronto, Calgary, Tampa Bay, Boston, and Buffalo, in that order.
