Stanley Cup Final 2017 Schedule
Stanley Cup Finals 2017
After 1,230 regular season contests, plus 81 playoff games that featured 27 OT battles, Pittsburgh and Nashville remain as the last two squads in Cup contention. Anything but predictable, the 2017 NHL “Second Season” has been packed with intriguing, close contests as 50 of the matches in the first three rounds were decided by one goal. Unlike the 2017 NBA postseason, the NHL playoffs have had very few blowouts as just 14 of the first 81 fights were decided by more than two goals.
Defending Champion Pittsburgh returns to the Stanley Cup Finals for the sixth time since the Pens joined the NHL in 1967. Could there be a better way to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of hockey in the Steel City? Knocking off Nashville would be a cherry on top of the celebration. The Penguins are 4-1 during NHL title series as they defeated Minnesota (1991) Chicago (1992) Detroit (2009) and San Jose (2016) with the lone loss being vs the Red Wings in the 2008 NHL Championship.
Tennessee is bursting with excitement as the Predators are participating in their inaugural NHL Cup Final. After celebrating their franchise first Western Conference Championship, a 4-2 series win vs the Anaheim Ducks, Smashville will be super-charged when Pittsburgh rolls into Nashville for matchups 3 and 4. In their first 19 seasons, the Preds had lost seven times in the quarterfinals and twice during the second round over nine playoff years. Pekka Rinne & Co are very well rested.

NHL Championship Round - How Did We Get Here?
Pittsburgh’s path to the title round looked fairly smooth, other than a rivalry war with Washington, but the Penguins had to persevere two series that went a full seven games. Sidney Crosby & Crew began their NHL postseason by crushing Columbus 4-1 as they outscored the Blue Jackets 21-13. After getting up 3-1 on the Capitals, the Pens posted a 2-0 Game 7 win to eliminate the Presidents’ Trophy claiming Caps. Monster favorites in the East Final, Pittsburgh received all they could handle from Ottawa – including a 3-2 double OT contest that ended the Senators Cinderella playoff run.
Steamrolling through the Western Conference, despite opening the second season with a (+2500) Stanley Cup futures line, Nashville was rock solid at both ends of the ice in their first three rounds. The Preds roll started with a four game sweep of Central Division winning Chicago as Filip Forsberg & Crew blitzed the Blackhawks by a 13-3 score. St. Louis put up a little more resistance in Round 2 but the Blues fell 4-2 by a 15-11 margin. Despite losing their top playoff scorer, Ryan Johansen, the Predators prevailed in the West Final (4-2) as they roasted the SoCal Ducks by a 19-15 count.Nashville Predators Win in Six Games (+400) Bet365
