NHL Playoff Predictions: Penguins vs Senators Game 4

NHL Playoff Predictions: Penguins vs Senators Game 4
Ottawa hosts Pittsburgh for Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals tonight. The Senators pummelled the Penguins 5-1 on Wednesday and they can take a stranglehold 3-1 series lead with a victory here. Game time, at the Canadian Tire Centre in Kanata, Ontario, is slated for 8:00 PM ET on May 19, 2017.

Penguins at Senators NHL Playoffs Game 3 Review

Owning Pittsburgh, from start to finish of Game 3, Ottawa scored four first period goals and then cruised to a 5-1 victory. The rout started early as Mike Hoffman lit the lamp just 48 seconds into the opening frame. A three-goal outburst, over a 2:18 span midway through the first twenty minutes, sent Pens goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury to an early shower and Matt Murray mopped up the mess.

  Money Line

Already without Kris Letang, Pittsburgh felt a negative WOWY effect in Game 3 as Justin Schultz, Patic Hornqvist, Tom Kuhnhackl and Bryan Rust all sat out the Wednesday walloping. Feeling the Penguins experienced “next man up” mantra could carry them proved to be fruitless and the Pens appear to be in trouble against the Senators. This series has been an utter disaster for us so far.

Pittsburgh Penguins @ Ottawa Senators Game 4 Preview and Prediction

Down players, being tired, plus showing no scoring punch, is recipe for failure in sports. While injuries are definitely hampering Pittsburgh, the Penguins also appear to wearing down as they have played a ton of hockey recently. Not including preseason matches, the Steel City Crew have played 203 games over the past 20 months. Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin played meaningful hockey early as they participated in the World Cup that ran for two weeks in September 2016.

Ottawa needs to be given full marks for the paddling they have put on the Penguins. Super-charged for their first East Final home game in over a decade, the Senators stormed out of the starting gate at The Garage. Whether it bothers them or not, talk of Ottawa playing boring “1-3-1 trap hockey” has been silenced somewhat. Sens Nation has fully embraced their hometown hockey hero’s as they mocked everyone outside of the 343 & 613 area codes with a hearty 1-3-1 chant during Game 3.

Two Goal Win Margin OTT (+600) PIT (+650) Bet365

We have fallen into a big hole in this series (-620) and we are at a point where we have to switch from a “how much can we win” mantra to a “how little can we lose” focus. Recognizing a fault in our ‘capping process – we have put too much stock in the injury riddled Penguins and not enough faith in a Senators squad that’s rolled to a 10-5 playoff record. Bet365 bookmakers have posted Game 4 as close to even as possible but the flightless birds have somehow retained their road chalk status. Going with a gut feeling, that an empty netter ends this match, we have backed two goals being the winning margin with 100-units at Bet365 on Ottawa (+600) and Pittsburgh (+650)

Game Four Update: With apologies for not getting this out LIVE we would like to remind everyone of the benefits of in-game wagering at online sportsbooks like Bet365. While it was risky, disaster if Ottawa would have tied the game, backing up this bet with a 400 unit wager on “no sixth goal” right after the Senators made it 3-2 earned a 147.82 profit on this contest. A late penalty on the Penguins hurt our Pittsburgh to win by two goals pick - which illustrates the value of LIVE betting.

2017 Odds To Win The Stanley Cup Update

Bunched tightly, more so than at any point of the 2017 National Hockey League playoffs, the Frozen Four odds are now within (+25) top to bottom. Losing half their (+500) pre Game 3 value, and vaulting into the top chalk slot, Ottawa is the new Stanley Cup favorite with a (+250) price. Pens punters are enduring epic mood swings as the Pittsburgh Cup futures have been like a yo-yo (+150 to +210 to +150) and they are last overall now at (+275) which is an East Final high to date.

Failing to cash in on a final minute comeback, that forced OT during their West Final Game 3 fight with Anaheim, Nashville fell from first to third chalk with a (+170) to (+275) value upgrade. The Ducks are mirror opposite to the Penguins as their last overall (+500) line lost almost half of its value dropping to a (+260) money line. The SoCal squad found another rabbit after a fluky goal gave Anaheim a 3-2 OT win tying the West Final at 2-2 heading back to the Duck Pond in Disneyland.

IIHF 2017 World Championship Top Rated Canadian Sportsbooks

IIHF World Championship action is also on tap as Canada, Russia, Sweden and Finland remain in that chase. Canada is consensus top chalk across the top rated sportsbooks in our Top Five table below. Act quickly though as those prices will disappear when Nate MacKinnon leads the Canucks into battle against Artemi Panarin and the high scoring Russians in the semifinals at 3:15 PM ET on May 20, 2017. Not only reserved for the NFL, big game props on the NHL and NBA Conference Finals, plus the Championship Round are also red-hot tickets. No matter the sport, entertainment, or political event, CSB recommended bookmakers cover Canuck ‘Cappers from coast to coast.
