NHL Playoff Predictions: Ottawa Senators vs NY Rangers Game 2
Eastern Conference Semifinal action opened with Ottawa posting a 2-1 victory over New York during Game 1. End to end action was featured in this contest as both teams were flying. Expect more of the same when the Senators battle the Rangers during Game 2 at 3:00 PM ET on April 29, 2017, in Kanata, Ontario.

Rangers at Senators NHL Playoffs Game 1 Review

Rock solid goaltending was front and center during an exciting Game 1 of the Ottawa versus New York Eastern Conference Semifinal series. Craig Anderson and Henrik Lundqvist both stood tall as the Senators recorded 43 shots and the Rangers posted 35 attempts. Following a scoreless first period, New York opened the scoring seven minutes into the second frame prior to Ottawa tying the contest with less than 90 seconds left in the period. Senators’ superstar Erik Karlsson potted the winner with less than five minutes left in final frame to give the Senators a 1-0 lead in this series.

NHL Eastern Conference Semifinal Series Game 2 Preview: Ottawa vs New York

Goals were rare in the opening match of this best-of-seven series. We feel bad for Lundqvist as he stood on his head stopping 41 of the 43 shots the Senators fired at him. After finishing fourth with 256 goals in the regular season, scoring continues to be an issue for the Blueshirts as they have lit the lamp just 15 times during their first seven postseason contests. J.T. Miller, Derek Stephan and Chris Kreider had 164 points in the regular season – they have four points in the playoffs.

Playing in a seventh straight one-goal game, Ottawa continues to do just enough to win during the 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs. After producing less than 30 shots in regulation time during all six of their matches vs Montreal, Ottawa cranked up their offense as ripped 43 shots at the Rangers. Knowing they can get pucks on net is a positive for the Senators but they will need to get more than two scores behind Lundqvist in the battles moving forward. Matinee action is rare for the Sens.

120 Units NY Rangers (-120) Money Line Bet William Hill

NHL Playoff Picks Today – April 29, 2017: 120 Units NY Rangers (-120) ML @ William Hill. Not big fans of matinee hockey, NBC Sports wanting a doubleheader means we get one today. In contests that started at 3:00 PM ET or earlier, the Rangers posted a 5-1-0 record this season as New York outscored their opponents by a slim 15-11 combined count. The Senators played just two early matches and they won both (3-1 and 3-0) at home against the Rangers and Islanders. Though a little surprising, New York is razor thin road chalk for a second straight game. We are backing the Blueshirts to even this series with a 120-unit wager on the William Hill Game 2 money line.

Western and Eastern Conference NHL Stanley Cup Futures Betting Update

Don’t look now but the upstart Alberta Boys have moved to the top of the William Hill Stanley Cup futures board with a tiny (+350) money line. Posted with a (+2500) NHL Championship price on March 16, 2017, two straight road wins over the Ducks in Anaheim has Edmonton heading home with a 2-0 semifinal series lead. Although they tied their series at 1-1 with the Nashville Predators, the St. Louis Blues are in a three-way tie as the biggest Cup longshots with a (+1100) money line.

William Hill April 29, 2017 NHL Stanley Cup Futures

Tied with Edmonton, Pittsburgh (+350) has moved past Washington (+400) as the top favorite in the East. That is largely due to the Penguins 3-2 victory over the Capitals on the road in Game 1 at the Verizon Center. Despite their 1-0 series lead over New York, Ottawa is tied with the Rangers and Blues as the largest Stanley Cup pups. The Penguins (+160) Capitals (+200) Senators (+350) and Rangers (+500) are the latest Eastern Conference Championship lines posted at William Hill.
