Champions League Picks: Monaco vs Tottenham Odds, Prediction and Live score
Matchday 5 in the UEFA Champions League is often what decides the fate of most groups. Tottenham head abroad needing all three points against a stingy Monaco side or else their dreams of advancing to the knockout round will be almost done and dusted.

After a heroic and perhaps even legendary late comeback win at home against fellow London rival West Ham, Tottenham may be finally ready to hit their stride. Harry Kane is back from injury and scoring big goals. Spurs will need their Talisman as they look to make moves in not only the Premier League, but Europe as well. Tottenham sit 3rd in group E and realistically need to win on Tuesday to have any hope of advancing in the competition. Also staying in 3rd position means that would go on to the Europa League if they remained there.

Something tells me they would rather not have to endure that task again this Tuesday.

Monaco on the other hand, are in pole position and only need to avoid a major collapse at this point to avoid making the round of 16. They have not had a bad run of form yet this season. In fact they are playing quite well having kept clean sheets in 3 straight games, and scoring 46 goals in 17 games in all competitions.

AS Monaco vs Tottenham Betting Prediction

BET UNDER 2.5 GOALS @ -133 ON BET365.

Tottenham can’t afford to play a wide open game. They need to be strategic and try to steal the 3 points. Spurs have been defensively naive at times this season. However after giving up 2 goals in the first half against Monaco on Matchday 1, they have only conceded 1 goal since. So they are capable of putting in a solid defensive performance. The reason they sit in 3rd place is because in 4 group E games, they have scored a grand total of 2 goals.

Monaco will be weary of the return of Harry Kane and will not give anything away easy. Away from home, Tottenham can not afford to go down either as they have lost both games in which they conceded a goal.

5 out of the 8 combined games that these teams have played in the group have gone under 2.5 goals, and seeing as this is the match of highest importance to date it is not hard to envision a low scoring, scrappy tie. Especially with what lies ahead.

A Lookahead to Matchday 6 of Europa League

Even a draw will guarantee Monaco their spot in the next round and because they face the dangerous Bayer Leverkusen in Germany, who will also have something to play for, they would like to have their spot secured.

Tottenham have a most winnable home match against CSKA Moscow. But with only 4 points accumualted, if they were to draw Tuesday, beating the Russian side would put them on 8 points after six matches, which usually is not enough to get through.
