Edmonton Oilers vs St. Louis Blues NHL Betting Odds and Game Day Call

Edmonton Oilers vs St. Louis Blues NHL Betting Odds and Game Day Call
National Hockey League puck betting action is our focus as the St. Louis Blues visit the Edmonton Oilers tonight. The Blues will be an ornery bunch, following a 7-4 crushing in Calgary on Monday night, while the Oilers are playing out the string on yet another losing season. Puck drop for this NHL Western Conference clash is slated for 9:30 PM ET on March 16, 2016, at Rexall Place in Edmonton, Alberta. Back the Blues with a ten-unit money line wager at Bet365.

Blues vs Oilers: Game Day Preview and NHL Wagering Lines

In a fierce fight for NHL playoff positioning, St. Louis enters tonight’s contest tied with Dallas in the Central Division standings. What’s more, the Blues are also in a five-team race for first overall in the Western Conference. Apart from their meltdown versus the Flames, St. Louis is on a roll in March as they have posted a 5-1 record this month – outscoring their opponents by a 21-13 margin.

Not of the playoff variety, Edmonton is in a fight of their own as they are “battling” the Toronto Maple Leafs for the NHL basement and the best shot in the 2016 Draft Lottery. It’s a position the Oilers are familiar with given they’ve had the first pick in the NHL draft in four of the last six years. Edmonton has been up and down recently as the Oilers are 4-4-0 during their last eight contests.

Oilers vs Blues: NHL Pacific vs Central Division Wagering Advice

Edmonton and St. Louis will both have their starters in net here as Cam Talbot (17-24-4 GAA 2.52) faces Jake Allen (24-13-3 GAA) in the netminders matchup tonight. Talbot has been steady for the Oilers as he is 5-2-0 over his last seven starts. After a string of six straight wins, during which he allowed 15 goals, Allen was pulled after allowing four goals on 17 shots in Calgary on Monday.

With just eleven games left on their regular season schedule, St. Louis is in a battle with Dallas, Chicago, Los Angeles and Anaheim in the race for first in the West. Those five teams are within six points of each other and the Kings (2) and Ducks (3) both have games in hand on St. Louis. The Blues are 19-2-1 during their last 22 meetings versus the Oilers. Whether St. Louis looked past the flickering Flames or not is debatable but we expect a strong effort from the Blues here.
