Winnipeg vs Saskatchewan: West Division Battle Opens CFL Week Seven
Two of the hotter clubs in the Canadian Football League clash as the Roughriders visit the Blue Bombers to kick off the CFL Week 7 schedule. Both clubs bring a two game winning streak into this tilt and, while it’s still early in the season, this is an important West Division battle on the prairies. Investors Group Field in Winnipeg, Manitoba, hosts this contest and game time is slated for 6:30 PM ET on August 7, 2014. Back the Riders – Win some Green!
Rider Nation is rolling along after consecutive blowout wins
Saskatchewan isn’t about to give up their grip on the Grey Cup trophy as the defending Champs now sit at 3-2 after two straight impressive victories. The ‘Riders have recorded back-to-back blowout wins over Toronto (37-9) and Ottawa (38-14). A victory tonight would move Rider Nation to within one game of first place in the CFL West Division – a spot that’s currently held by the Blue Bombers. A new found running game, that’s backed by the best O-Line in the CFL, has the Roughriders rolling. John Chick leads a defense that has 21 QB sacks in five games.
Winnipeg Blue Bombers: Currently the surprising CFL overall leaders
Talk about a reversal of fortunes. After posting a 9-27 record over the past two seasons, Winnipeg has come full circle as they sit in first overall early in the 2014 CFL season with a 5-1 record. Thanks in large part to the solid play of QB Drew Willy, an off-season acquisition from Toronto via the NFL, Winnipeg is averaging 28 points and 354 yards on offense per game. Though they sit second in the CFL with 20 QB sacks, we aren’t sold on the the Bombers defense that’s giving up 23.3 points and 337 yards per game. Getting razor thin prices, as expected, we’ll lay the point spread and roll with the Roughriders with a 300 unit wager at the Bodog online sportsbook.
