OKC pushed their winning streak to six straight at the expense of the visiting Trail Blazers. The Thunder (an eleven point favourite) walloped Portland 106-90 to improve to an intimidating 12-3 at home. Kevin Durant led the Thunder in points with 24 and collected 7 rebounds in 29 minutes played. Oklahoma City will look to grow that consecutive Ws tally tonight in Cleveland.

Abby Wambach packed it in tonight of her final game with the U.S. Women’s National Team and there were no shortage of tributes. One that caught a lot of eyes was the six-minute video Nike Soccer released featuring a look back at Wambach’s incredible career and the perspectives of those that were inspired and awed by her work. Totally worth a watch and we have it tucked below.
Did You Know?
- Braden Holtby provided 26 saves on Wednesday to backstop Washington for a 2-1 home win over Ottawa. John Carlson scored his sixth lamp lighter of the season in the victory which keeps the Caps (winners of three straight) ahead in the Metro division standings. The Sens can extract revenge on January 10 when these two teams meet again.
- Brock Osweiler will be the man at quarterback for Denver on Sunday when they visit the Steelers in their major AFC showdown. Peyton Manning’s health has been improving, but his substitute has earned the nod the Broncos in Week 15. The Broncos, a six-and-a-half point underdog for Week 15, have gone 3-1 with Osweiler at the helm with his first 300 yard game coming in last week’s loss to Oakland.
- The New England Patriots will be without star rusher LeGarrette Blount for the remainder of the season, putting a further stress on an already decimated offensive corps. Blount exited New England’s 27-6 thrashing of Houston in Week 14 with a hip injury leaving Brandon Bolden and James White as the only running backs left on the roster. The Pats are reportedly interested in Rams franchise rushing record holder Steven Jackson to help provide some assistance. The Pats, sans Blount, are a colossal 14 point favourite versus visiting Tennessee this weekend. New England are 6-1 at home on the season.
- A three-way deal is sending Reds All-Star Todd Fraiser to the south side of Chicago. Fraiser (who had 35 homers in 2015) goes to the White Sox, the Reds are getting Jose Peraza, Brandon Dixon and Scott Schebler from Los Angeles and the Dodgers recieve Frankie Montas, Micah Johnson and Trayce Thompson. White Sox fans have a fair bit to be optimistic about for next spring, but the Futures board is a bit conservative about Chicago’s changes and have pegged the team as a 50/1 World Series shot.
