Speakng of King James, he passed Jerry West on the NBA’s career scoring list in last night’s action. He’s now in 19th place on the list.

The world of sports is still buzzing about Ronda Rousey’s loss stunning loss to Holly Holm over the weekend, but there’s another major fight creeping up over the horizon. The long awaited showdown between UFC featherweight champ Jose Aldo and interim champ Conor McGregor goes down this December 12 at UFC 194 in Las Vegas. (Also on the card: +140 underdog Luke Rockhold trying to knock off middleweight titleholder Chris Weidman.) McGregor’s considered a -185 favourite to win the massive bout in what might be the biggest bout of the year. Here’s a fresh hype video the UFC has done up to amplify the anticipation.

Did You Know?

- San Jose (a +175 road underdog) outgunned Boston in their home rink on Tuesday. Joe Pavelski notched a goal and two assists in the 5-4 win while Martin Jones turned away 25 shots. David Krejci provided a pair of assists for the Bruins in a losing cause.

- Quarterback changes are being made in the NFL. First up, the Browns have finally gotten around to giving Johnny Manziel the starter’s job for the remainder of the season. Johnny Football, who threw for 372 yards in last week’s loss to Pittsburgh, had been kept on the sidelines in favour of Josh McCown. McCown’s injury problems have played into the change at pivot with McCown currently dealing with a rib issue. The Browns are in bye mode at the moment.

- The Rams have elected to usher Nick Foles to the bench. The ex-Eagle has had an underwhelming run as St.  Louis’ starter throwing 7 TDs, 6 INTs and completing 56.6% of his passes. Coach Jeff Fisher told reporters that the move was done to give Foles a break. 27-year-old Case Keenum will take over for the Rams at QB for now. His first test in the starter’s role will come as a two point road underdog for Sunday’s tilt in Baltimore.

- Fox Sports is reporting that David Ortiz will retire after the 2016 MLB season. The Red Sox slugger has been a huge part of the 00s/10s Red Sox renaissance and has socked 503 round-trippers in his career in the majors. (Ortiz turns 40 today.) Will Big Papi get that fourth World Series ring? Boston’s listed on the Futures board as a 16/1 shot to make that happen this year.
