Can you sort out the scent of your favourite NFL team? SB Nation recreated the logos of National Football League franchises with scented markers and had people in their office huff in the smell. “The results were mixed, but one thing is clear: the Patriots do not smell good,” reads an introductory bit of text. By the way, scent be damned the Patriots are pegged as a 9/1 Super Bowl contender by oddsmakers.
Did You Know?
- Outside of Dan Snyder there aren’t that many folks that would consider Washington to be the dynamo of the NFC East. Starting QB Robert Griffin III raised eyebrows by saying” “I feel like I’m the best quarterback in the league, and I have to go out and show that.” RGIII had an underhwelming 2014 that he’d like to forget, so you can understand the call for brovado. Oddsmakers have Washington a distant 125/1 title shot.
- The Arizona Cardinals are hoping a former 2,000 yard rusher still has something left in the tank. The Cards have inked Chris Johnson to a one year deal and are picking up the 30-year-old following a forgettable season with the New York Jets. Arizona finished 2014 with the lowest yardage per rush in the NFL. The Cardinals are listed as a 33/1 Super Bowl hopeful.
- Daniel Briere is calling it a career. Drafted way back in 1996 with a first round Phoenix draft pick, the forward says he’s retiring to spend more with his family. Briere, who spent last season with Colorado, scored 696 points in 973 career regular season games. Briere’s legacy is as a postseason dynamo that scored 116 points in 124 playoff contests.
- Jon Stewart’s post Daily Show life has a fresh date on the calendar. The comedian has been tapped as the official host of WWE’s SummerSlam. The big sexy bout on the card is the WrestleMania XXX rematch between Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker.
