Kansas City has declared Justin Houston to be the key to their defense and they’re putting their money where their mouth is. The superstar linebacker has inked a six-year deal worth a whopping $101 million with $52 million plus is guaranteed dough. This pact ranks as the richest in Chiefs history and also the richest ever for a linebacker in the NFL. Houston was phenomenal in 2014, ending his season one half-sack shy of Michael Strahan’s league record. The 26-year-old returns to a team that has been listed by oddsmakers as a 33/1 shot to win the Super Bowl.

- Ryan Kesler will be in the black and orange into 2022. The Anaheim Ducks have hammered out a six-year contract extension and are taking one of 2016′s biggest free agents off the market. The 30-year-old forward scored 20 goals an 27 assists last season with the Ducks complete with a strong playoff campaign to match. The Ducks are projected as a 10/1 Stanley Cup contender for the upcoming season.
- The Dallas Stars have elected to bring another Chicago Blackhawk into the fold. 33-year-old defenceman Johnny Oduya has signed a two-year deal to join teammate Patrick Sharp in the Lone Star State. Oduya has tallied 152 points in 664 regular season games and can boast being a two-time Stanley Cup champion. Dallas is currently listed as a 25/1 shot to win the Cup in 2016.
- The British Open begins today at the Old Course at St. Andrews. Jordan Spieth is considered the favourite and has the 9/2 odds to show for it. As you might recall, Spieth has both the Masters and U.S. Open titles under his belt this year.
