Tennessee vs Jacksonville: NFL Week 16 Toilet Bowl Battle
Jacksonville Jaguars: Aim for a win in their home game finale
Figuring the NFL is probably wishing for “do-over” on this scheduling gaffe, Jacksonville closes out their home schedule with their lone primetime contest of the season tonight. The Jaguars will miss the playoffs for an eighth consecutive year but they are in a heated battle to gain the first overall selection in the 2015 NFL Draft. Even that’s probably not going to happen as the Jags would have to lose their two remaining games and hope that Oakland and Tampa Bay both win one their last two contests. The Cats look to avenge a 16-14 Week 6 loss and avoid a Titans season series sweep.
Tennessee Titans: Quarterbacking carousel continues to rotate for the Music City Crew
A rough season is crawling to close for Tennessee as well and the Titans will miss the postseason for a sixth straight year. Though they have lots of problems, the fact that Tennessee has started three different quarterbacks hasn’t helped. With Jake Locker and Zach Mettenberger both injured, the Titans turn to Charlie Whitehurst as their starter for the second time this season. Whitehurst was under center when the Titans beat the Jaguars back in Week 6 but was then benched prior to Week 8 action. Tennessee has given up 27.9 points and scored just 16.5 points per game this season.
Jaguars vs Titans Prediction: Jacksonville hung tough on the road with Baltimore during a 20-12 loss last Sunday so they still have some compete gas left in the tank. How much fight the Titans will have in this meaningless road game remains to be seen. Not sure who will win this battle of bottom feeders, we turn to the prop betting board at Bet365 for today’s free pick selection. We like the “Total Field Goals Scored 2-Way” prop bet to go OVER the 2.5 field goals with a 500 unit wager.
