Sochi 2014 Russian Olympics: Ice Hockey Preliminary Round Prices
Day Three of the Sochi 2014 Men’s Ice Hockey competition is upon us as Canada, Sweden and Finland look to remain perfect while the USA and Russia enjoy a day off prior to their epic clash during Day Four action on Saturday. Sweden vs. Switzerland and Canada vs. Austria are the two contests featured in this February 14, 2014, Olympic puck preview.
Switzerland versus Sweden could decide Group C winner
Fresh off 1-0 and 4-2 opening match wins respectively, the Swiss and Swedes are set to battle in a contest that could decide the Group C preliminary round Champions. Sweden doesn’t appear to miss injured stars Henrick Sedin and Johan Franzen as they scored four early goals to beat the Czech while Jonas Hiller was solid in net as the Swiss blanked Latvia in their tourney opening action. The Swiss are sneaky good and can’t be discounted.
CSB Prediction: We will take the +1.5 (+120) puck line and side with Switzerland here
Canada opens Olympic Ice Hockey action with back-to-back blowouts
After a 3-1 squeaker win versus Norway yesterday, Team Canada looks to get the scoring train rolling as they face an even more over-matched opponent with Austria on their schedule today. Try as they may, Austria opened their 2014 Sochi Games with an 8-4 loss to Finland. Don’t expect the Canucks to look past the Lads from the Alps prior to their February 16th Group B preliminary round deciding battle against Finland. Lay the big puck line here.
CSB Prediction: It’s a big price but we’ll lay the 4.5 (-173) puck line to back Canada
