Seattle vs Washington: Super Bowl Champs Visit The District

Monday Night Football heads to the US Capital as the National Football League Week 5 schedule wraps up in Washington. Seattle is in the District as the Super Bowl Champion Seahawks battle the Redskins in a re-match of their 2013 NFC Wild Card game. Kickoff is at 8:30 PM ET on October 6, 2014, at FedEx Field in Landover, MD. Roll with the Champs.

Seahawks looks to join Cardinals and 49ers atop NFC West

After San Francisco took out Kansas City 22-17 and Arizona was blitzed 41-20 by the Broncos in Sunday Week 5 action both clubs have three wins during the young NFL season. Seattle looks to join them as they come off their bye week with a 2-1 record. The Seahawks have home wins over Green Bay (36-16) and Denver (26-20 OT) that sandwiched a 30-21 Week 2 loss in San Diego. The Champs loss to the Chargers is more respectable after the Bolts bashed the Jets 31-0 on Sunday. Seattle’s defense is the key here as Richard Sherman and Byron Maxwell will defend against Redskins QB Kirk Cousin who tossed four interceptions versus the Giants last week.

Redskins season borders on rock bottom after New York meltdown

Any momentum Washington gained after their 41-10 win over lowly Jacksonville in Week 2 has disappeared as the Redskins season is swirling the porcelain – if it’s not totally flushed already. Divisional losses to Dallas (37-34) and New York (45-14) puts the Redskins three wins behind the Eagles and Cowboys in what has become a high octane NFC East. Making his third start, Cousins may be on a short leash tonight – not that backup Colt McCoy is any more inspiring. Washington has been outscored 99-54 in their three losses and, while they put up 123 points in their last three games, the Redskins haven’t faced a defense like the one Seattle rolls out tonight.

NFL 2014 Week 5 Monday Night Football Forecast: Being on the road is the only Seattle caution here and even that’s reduced as this is a night game and the Seahawks are coming off a week of rest. We aren’t impressed by the Redskins point production as neither the Eagles or Giants boast an elite defense. A reasonably better offense and the decided better defense moves us to backing the Seahawks with a 300 unit spread wager. In case the Seattle offense goes quite, and to get some value out of the Hawks money line, we will also tie the -315 ML price to the UNDER game total odds with a 200 unit parlay at the sportsbetting.ag online sportsbook.
