National Football League 2014 Kickoff Thursday features a beauty as Green Bay visits Seattle to get the NFL Week 1 schedule underway. The Packers and Seahawks collide at 8:30 PM ET on September 4, 2014, at CenturyLink Field in Seattle, Washington. The Link will be rocking as Seattle’s “12th Man” gets to honor the Super Bowl XLVIII Champion Seahawks prior to the tilt. Will the Packers spoil the party or will the Hawks keep rolling?
Repeating as Super Bowl XLVIII Champions is a difficult task
When you are the Champs – everybody comes gunning for you. Nowhere is that more evident than in the National Football League as the defending Super Bowl Champions have a bulls-eye on their backs all season long. Need proof? It’s been a decade since the last team won back-to-back NFL Champions as New England last turned the double in 2004 and 2005. Since then, nine different teams have claimed the Vince Lombardi trophy – four from the AFC and five from the NFC. Seattle’s road is even more difficult when you consider that no team has repeated as the NFC Champion since Green Bay did it in 1996 and 1997. The journey to Super Bowl XLIX begins tonight!
Seahawks vs Packers: Bad blood still exists between these NFC rivals
As much as Roger Goodell and the NFL Brass wish they would – few can forget the “Fail Mary” play in Green Bay on Monday Night Football back in Week 3 of the 2012 NFL season. Plain and simple, the replacement refs blew it, but we doubt the Packers have forgotten it. This is the first time these clubs have met since that fateful night and we love this Kickoff Thursday contest. Seattle has the “12th Man” crowd behind them but Green Bay brings an impressive offensive arsenal into this contest. Though our space is limited here, we have researched this battle from top to bottom and we see a close contest tonight. Wade into the shallow end of the NFL betting pool here.

Handicappers who convince themselves - and anyone else who will listen - that the Kentucky Derby is just another race probably haven't cashed too many tickets on the first Saturday in May. The truth is people should bet the Derby differently because of just how unlike any other race it is.
Instead of trying to figure out which backup National Football League players are better than others, while betting on NFL preseason action, we turn to fight for first in Canadian Football League. Looking like the cream of the CFL crop, Calgary is in British Columbia and the Stampeders lead the Lions by a half game in the West Division. Meeting for the third time this season, these rivals hit the gridiron at 10:00 PM ET on August 19, 2016, at BC Place in Vancouver.
