Another wild week in the Canadian Football League comes to a close as the Saskatchewan Roughriders visit Ottawa to battle the Redblacks. While both squads have struggled some early in the CFL season, the Green Riders are the better team here. TD Place stadium hosts this East vs West clash and kickoff is slated for 7:00 PM ET on August 2, 2014. Go Green!
Roughriders look to build on momentum from Toronto blowout
Following two straight loses, to the Argonauts and Lions by a combined 74-28 count, Saskatchewan used their bye week to right the ship and then exacted a measure of revenge as they pounded Toronto 37-9 last Saturday. Newly acquired running back Will Ford rushed for 114 yards with three touchdowns and the Riders were rock solid on defense against QB Ricky Ray and the injury depleted Argos. The Riders still have the best O-Line in the CFL.
Redblacks aim to remain perfect at home during inaugural CFL season
While they only have one win, an 18-17 Week 4 victory over Toronto, Ottawa is just one game out of first place in the East. Facts are facts though and the East divison stinks as the four squads have a combined 5-15 record. The Redblacks look like an expansion squad as they have struggled on both sides of the ball getting outscored 80-113 through their first four games. With the Riders starting to roll – their path doesn’t get any easier for them tonight.
CFL Prediction: Lay the line and roll with the Roughriders with a 300 unit wager at the Bodog sportsbook.
