Pittsburgh gets a second shot at knocking off New York, and to advance to the Eastern Conference final, as the Penguins are in the Big Apple to face the Rangers. An emotional Blueshirt squad pulled out all the stops and staved off elimination in Game Five on Friday. Madison Square Garden host this NHL postseason action at 7:30 PM ET on May 11, 2014.
Pittsburgh Penguins: Receive much needed rest with a win
After getting blown out 5-1 on their own pond on Friday night, the Penguins look to reload as they travel to New York trying to polish off the Rangers. Save for a highlight reel goal by Evgeni Malkin, who scored on an amazing one on four rush, Pittsburgh fans had very little to cheer about on Friday. For the Pens to get some much needed rest, goalie Marc-Andre Fleury and the entire Pittsburgh team need to be better tonight – we think they will be.
New York Rangers: Live to fight another day after punishing Penguins
As bad as the Penguins were in Game Five, you have to give a ton of credit to the Rangers as they traveled into enemy territory and punched Pittsburgh in the face. Buoying newly acquired forward Martin St. Louis, whose Mom passed away on Thursday, the Rangers played with a lot of emotion, received a stellar effort from goalie Henrik Lundqvist and three Rangers scored their first goals of the 2014 playoffs. The Blueshirts are puck line chalk here.
