Packers vs Vikings NFL Week 12: NFC North Rivals Meet in Minnesota
Minnesota Vikings: Weird year will not have a playoff ending
A mini two-game winning streak came to an end last week as Minnesota fell 21-13 to the Bears on the road at Soldier Field in Chicago. Now sitting with a 4-7 record, the loss dropped the Vikings into the NFC North cellar and snuffed out the faint playoff flame they were clinging to. Another hammer came pounding down later in the week as beleaguered running Adrian Peterson was suspended for the remainder of the 2014 NFL season. That’s been the turmoil and, given the $15 million-plus he’s owed in 2015, it’s safe to say that AP has played his final game as a Viking. Rookies QB Teddy Bridgewalter and RB Jerick McKinnon have been the experiments and they are both a work in a progress as Minnesota ranks 31st in total offense – just one yard ahead of the Tennessee Titans.
Green Bay Packers: Rodgers Express may roll all the way to Arizona
Following a Week 8 blowout in the Bayou, where the Packers were punked 44-23 by the Saints, Green Bay (7-3) appears to be back on track as they are coming off back to back home wins. First it was a 55-14 bashing of the Bears in Week 10 and then Rodgers & Co. pounded Philadelphia 53-20 last week. While there’s no denying that the Pack always attack on offense, the defense is also starting to come around after they shutout Chicago until halfway through the third quarter and then allowed just two field goals in the first half against the high scoring Eagles. Green Bay is tied with New England with a +105 points for – points against differential outscoring their opponents by a 33-22 margin over ten games. The Pack are riding an 8-1-1 streak versus Minnesota.
Packers vs Vikings NFL Game Day Call: After they were gashed 42-10 in Green Bay back in Week 5, during a contest that Aaron Rodgers & Crew led 42-0 heading into the fourth quarter, this is a revenge match for Minnesota. You can also call this home game the Vikings Super Bowl as the Packers are their biggest rival. It will be interesting to see how the Vikings respond now that they officially know that Peterson won’t be back on the field this season. However, most of that is secondary to the fact that Minnesota averages 18.1 PPG game while the Packers lead the NFL with their 33.0 PPG average. Trying to dig out of a rout we’ve gotten ourselves into, we will chip away with a 500 unit bet on the -6.5 Alternate Handicap price posted at the William Hill sportsbook.
