Halfway through the 2014 National Football League offseason, things are already starting to heat up on the NFL betting board at the William Hill online sportsbook. Not only have they posted odds to win Super Bowl XLIX and the individual Conference Championships, but Week One lines are also up as the NFL regular season kicks off on September 4, 2014.
Seattle Seahawks: Defending Champs open as top NFC chalk
Attempting to become the first team to capture back-to-back Super Bowl titles since New England in 2004-05, Seattle has opened as top chalk to win the National Football Conference Championship. The line is slim however as their NFC West stablemates the San Francisco 49ers are hot on the Seahawks tail. Despite a couple of notable free agent loses (WR Golden Tate to Detroit and CB Brandon Browner to New England) Seattle is still a stacked squad and they will be difficult to bet against. We see the Saints as an NFC darkhorse that could surprise.
Denver Broncos: Set to move on after Super Bowl XLVIII blowout loss
Getting up off the mat and living to fight another day is the mark of Champion. That’s exactly what Denver faces as the Broncos move on from their 48-3 Super Bowl XLVIII loss to the Seahawks. Built to win in the NFL regular season, Denver will open the 2014 NFL campaign fully loaded on offense, one has to wonder if they have the defense to win in the playoffs. That said, QB Peyton Manning and his multi-headed arsenal should be enough to win a second straight AFC Championship as Tom Brady and the Patriots appear to be their lone stumbling block.
