NFL 2014 Week 11: Broncos and Chargers Are Thick Chalk
Broncos vs Rams: Road weary squads meet up in Missouri
Peyton Manning faces the Rams for the first time as the Broncos starting quarterback when Denver battles St. Louis for the first time since 2010 on Sunday. Manning’s last trip the Edward Jones Dome, though as a Colt and long ago in 2009, was a memorable one has he ripped the Rams with three TD passes in a 42-6 victory. Both teams are road weary as Denver is traveling for a third straight week following contests in New England and Oakland while the Rams just completed a three city trip that included stops in Kansas City, San Francisco and Arizona. Facing QB Shawn Hill, who became a backup to his own backup after the Rams were bashed 34-6 in their season opener, Denver’s defense may outshine their high octane offense in this contest.
Chargers vs Raiders: San Diego is in must win mode against Oakland
San Diego saw their bye week roll around at a perfect time as the injury riddled Chargers needed some time to regroup. On a three game losing skid, that was punctuated with a 37-0 loss in Miami during Week 9 action, the Bolts needed a recharge and they got just that. The Chargers much maligned defense gets LB Manti Te’o OLB Jeremiah Attaochu and S Jahleel Addae back on the field for this contest. With the Broncos (7-2) and Chiefs (6-3) both rolling along, San Diego (5-4) can’t afford many more loses. This is a rematch of the Chargers 31-28 win in Week 6 which was the first time we started to notice some cracks in the Chargers foundation. The Raiders (0-9) gave it their all but still came up well short in a 41-17 bashing by the Broncos in Oakland last week.
NFL Week 11 Money Line Parlay Prediction: Denver didn’t look past the lowly Raiders in the Black Hole last week and, with the Chiefs hot their heels in the AFC West, they won’t shrug off St. Louis. The stench still lingers as San Diego has had two weeks to mull over and stew about their blowout in South Beach. The Bolts face a must-win contest if they want to stay alive in the AFC playoff race.
