Maple Leafs vs Flyers: Eastern Conference NHL Showdown
We could be witnessing a first round NHL playoff match-up when the Philadelphia Flyers battle the Toronto Maple Leafs tonight. Both clubs enter this contest on a post-Olympic winning roll and puck drop is slated for 7:00 PM ET on Saturday, March 8, 2014, from the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Soar with the Flyers as road pups here.
Philadelphia seeks freedom from the New York Rangers
Winners of seven of their last eight games, Philadelphia rolls into Toronto as one of the hottest teams in the NHL. Since catching Pittsburgh for top spot in the Metropolitan Division is a longshot (Flyers trail the Pens by 16 points) Philly has their eyes set on second place as they are currently tied with the Rangers at 72 points – with one game in hand. The Flyers just completed a home-and-home sweep of the Capitals with 5-4 (OT) and 6-4 victories.
Season long roller-coaster type ride continues for the Maple Leafs
Mini winning and losing runs have been the norm in Toronto as the Leafs can’t find consistency this season. The Buds opened January with a 1-4 run, then reeled off six wins, then lost two and won three, and have gone 3-4 in their last seven games. That said, Toronto has at least a point in nine of their last eleven games, including a 3-2 OT win against the Rangers on Wednesday, and sit three points back of Montreal for second in the Atlantic.
CSB Prediction: Put 500 units on the +1.5 (-280) puck line at sportsbetting.ag and soar with the Flyers.
