Detroit Tigers: The Price may be right for the final time

Failing to live up to their preseason expectations, Detroit was a favorite to win the American League Central back in March, the Tigers are struggling as they have posted a 4-7 record since to All-Star break. Sitting with a 48-51 overall record, the Motor City Cats are 12.5 games behind Kansas City in the AL Central and 4.5 games back in the AL Wild Card race. Subject of numerous trade rumors, LHP David Price (9-3 ERA 2.31) could be making his final start as a Tiger tonight. If he is indeed auditioning for other teams, Price has put on an All-Star performance as he has allowed just four earned runs, with 34 strikeouts over 30 inning pitched, during four starts in July.

Tampa Bay Rays: Rollercoaster style season continues in St Petersburg

After being in or around first place for most of the MLB first half, Tampa Bay has fallen off the pace somewhat recently. Tied for first with Baltimore on June 30, an 8-14 run in July has the Rays 50-51 overall and 7.5 games behind the New York Yankees in the AL East. Tampa Bay is 4-6 since the All-Star break – including a 5-2 win in the first match of this three-game series versus the Tigers. RHP Jake Odorizzi (5-6 ERA 2.85) will toe the rubber for the Rays in this contest. Odorizzi has had a solid overall season but he’s allowed eight runs over 15 innings during his three outings in July.

Tigers vs Rays MLB Game Day Call: Price, who played in Tampa Bay for six years, is making his second start against his former team. Price was right (one run allowed over eight innings) but didn’t get any run support during a 1-0 loss to the Rays back on August 21, 2014, at Tropicana Field. We are backing the Tigers with a 500 unit wager on the money line price posted at Bodog. A Canadian legend, Bodog is new and improved.
