Broncos vs Panthers Guaranteed Pay Day Super Bowl 50 Futures Betting Update
Still eight days away from Super Bowl 50, and following a sweet run through the first three rounds of the National Football League playoffs, today we check in on our NFL Championship futures wager that we placed on January 6, 2016. It’s always fun to go back to the future – especially when we are guaranteed a pay day on Super Bowl Sunday. That’s the case again this year as we have the Carolina Panthers, with a +475 ML price, to claim the Vince Lombardi trophy when they battle the Denver Broncos. Let’s have a look at our options prior to the title game on February 7, 2016, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, CA.

Backing the 17-1 Carolina Panthers as Champions: Better late than never
Congratulations to anyone who bagged the Panthers and their gaudy +3500 money line price back in February 2015. Admittedly a little late to the party, we caught Carolina with a decent +475 ML prior to the Wild Card Weekend action. Slightly spooked by the Panthers drawing Seattle in the Divisional round, we hedged our bet and placed a 500-unit wager on Arizona. Being as hindsight is 20/20 the move backfired but futures wagering is about earning guaranteed success. Once Green Bay was sent packing, and Carolina crushed Seattle, backing the Cardinals earned us a horse in the Super Bowl. Boil it down and we will earn a return of 1875 units if the Cats claim the Super Bowl. On the flip side, we stand to lose 1000 units if the Broncos take home the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
Denver Broncos vs Carolina Panthers Super Bowl 50 Futures Update: So now what eh?
Our move on Carolina is made sweeter by the fact that the Panthers are Super Bowl 50 favorites. The odds are a little staggering as Carolina is -6 (-110) against the spread at some books while bettors can back Denver with a +210 money line at BetOnline. Keep in mind that we have worked our way to a point where, at the very least, we want to avoid a loss of any kind. We looked at the spread price, for a possible double-dip, but decided the rewards weren’t worth the capital needed to place the bet. As such, we are going to guarantee a Super Bowl Sunday pay day with a 900 unit backup investment on the Broncos money line at the BetOnline sportsbook. By hedging our wager, the final results are a guaranteed +975 if Carolina wins and +890 if Denver shocks the chalk. We’ll be back with additional betting advice leading up to Super Bowl Sunday so please stay tuned.

Handicappers who convince themselves - and anyone else who will listen - that the Kentucky Derby is just another race probably haven't cashed too many tickets on the first Saturday in May. The truth is people should bet the Derby differently because of just how unlike any other race it is.
