Strasburg Faces Braves While Closing in on Innings Limit
Stephen Strasburg is having one of the best season’s for a pitcher in the franchise history of the Nationals yet he might not be able to complete it as he draws closer to his innings limit. He will take on the Braves tonight in D.C. looking for his 15th win of the season. Against the Braves in his career, Strasburg is 2-3 with a 4.70 ERA. Even though these numbers do not bode well, in his previous three starts, Strasburg is 3-0 with a 1.50 ERA.
Maholm Looks to Stay Hot as a Member of the Braves
Since being traded to the Braves from the Cubs at the deadline, Paul Maholm is 2-1 with a 1.57 ERA. In his career, Maholm is 1-5 witha 5.56 ERA against the Nationals. Maholm was having an excellent season before being traded by the Cubs and it has become even better since going from a struggling team to a first place (NL Wild Card) team at the trade deadline.
As the playoff races continue to heat up towards the end of August, the online sportsbook of Bovada.lv has an excellent line for Tuesday night’s game between the Braves and the Nationals in D.C. The moneyline is -150 for the Nationals and Stephen Strasburg, which is a bet we will gladly take Tuesday night.
