Boston vs Anaheim: East Meets West in NHL Monday Night Action
Looking forward to a divine December, we open the month with National Hockey League action as Anaheim hosts Boston tonight. The Ducks had an ugly November while the Bruins have started to roll after a slow start to their season. Puck drop is slated for 10:00 PM ET on December 1, 2014, at the Honda Center in Anaheim, CA. Take the pucks in a contest featuring two evenly matched teams.
Boston earned points in nine of twelve games last month
Despite missing All-World defenceman Zdeno Chara, Boston continues to play at a high level as they have won nine of their last 13 contests. The Bruins open a four game west coast road trip tonight and they are sporting a 5-4-0 record as visitors. Scoring has been a challenge for Boston recently as they have averaged just 1.75 goals per game over their last eight contests. Tuukka Rask (11-6-1 GAA 2.31) gets the start in net for the Boston tonight.
Anaheim is looking to turn the page on an illness and injury ravaged November
After opening their season with a 10-3-0 record, Anaheim has posted a 4-3-4 mark over their last eleven games including two straight losses by a combined 10-5 final count. Injuries and illness have been a big part of the Ducks woes as the mumps and a flu virus ran rampant in their locker room recently. Frederick Anderson (10-4-4 GAA 2.37) allowed eight goals on 57 shots in consecutive losses to Chicago (4-1) and San Jose (6-4) on the weekend.
