Horse racing returns to the spotlight on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 5 PM ET with the 145th running of Belmont Stakes from at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York. This race is the third and final leg of the United States Triple Crown. We will back Orb to grab the crown.
Orb: Looks to grab another horse racing Triple Crown jewel
Orb was the winner of the first leg of the Triple Crown, the Kentucky Derby, and should take home the crown from the Belmont Stakes, winning two of the three legs. Orb lost to Oxbow in the Preakness Stakes, removing any possibility of there being a Triple Crown champion for the 2013 horse racing season.
Revolutionary: Returning to the race track after skipping Preakness
Revolutionary ran in the Kentucky Derby, but did not run in the Preakness Stakes. The horse will return to the track for the Belmont Stakes and will run in the ninth post position. Revolutionary has not run in a single race since the Kentucky Derby, so this race will be a major test for the horse in an effort to win.
For today’s Belmont Stakes in Elmont, New York, we find the race line at Sportsinteraction.com. Orb is the top favorite at +297 while Revolutionary is second at +471. Another favorite is Oxbow, who comes in at +501 today. We will back Orb and the +297 odds to win the Belmont Stakes on Saturday on a soggy track.
