‘Twas the night before Christmas and all through the lands, not a creature was stirring, not a fan in the stands. Unless of course you are lucky enough to be in the Hawaiian Islands for the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl tilt between Boise State and Oregon State. The Broncos will face the Beavers at 8:00 PM ET on December 24, 2013, from Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, HI.
Boise State Broncos: Seeking fifth straight Bowl Game win
Though they enter this contest minus long time head coach Chris Petersen, who has moved on to Washington, Boise State (8-4) will be highly motivated to capture a win in the Hawaii Bowl tonight. The Broncos can earn a school-record fifth straight NCAAF postseason win when they face a struggling Oregon State team. This is the 12th straight bowl game appearance for the Broncos but their first in eight seasons without coach Petersen.
Oregon State Beavers: Potent offense masks a brutal run defense
Following five straight Bowl Game wins, (2003 to 2008) Oregon State has lost two NCAAF postseason contests in a row (2009 & 2012). After opening the season with #25 AP ranking, the Beavers limp into the Hawaii Bowl with a mediocre 6-6 record and five straight loses by a combined 186-105 final count. One has to wonder how much fight is left in the Beavers after they dropped a 36-35 heart-breaker to #13 Oregon to close out their regular season.
